The concept for FDFdolls.com began long ago in the fall of 2005. Our family went on vaction to Myrtle Beach. My sister Donna and I brought along supplies to play. The trip started out very tense due to the long drive and stress of travel.
To distract us, my sister Donna conceived the notion of a doll dress competition. Our mother and her cousin, and we three sisters each sketched a dress design which Donna and I turned into garmets with the supplies we brought with us. We worked together over several days and some long nights and finished up with a fashion show on the last day.
The winner of the fashion contest was "The Dominatrix" conceived by our sister Ann, featuring crocheted mesh stockings and gloves and a crocheted cat-of-nine-tails whip. The mask and bodice were fashioned from purchased lace and the short-shorts from a scrap of black silk fabric.
The general opinion was one of sympathy for poor Ken.
Thus was born the glimmer of an idea for a joint venture into the fashion doll business.
